‘Airtight on Asbestos’ campaign pushes forward the debate for a UK National Asbestos Register
Leading think tank ResPublica has featured UKNAR’s Asbestos SMART video as part of its high-profile ‘Airtight on Asbestos’ anti-asbestos campaign.
In a recent piece which queries the HSE’s unsubstantiated view that a central asbestos register would provide few if any benefits, ResPublica is quick to support UKNAR with plenty of robust evidence to counter this claim.
Airtight on Asbestos supports the work of companies and organisations that are leading the industry on bridging the asbestos safety gap with simple and effective innovation.
The main aim of the campaign is to reorder the Health and Safety Executive’s (HSE) parameters for asbestos so that they are properly reviewed and amended to reflect the genuine risks to public safety. This would, as a minimum, bring UK regulation into line with the best practice of other European nations.
